Computer Illustration x2

Here's some end-of-the-year stuff that I did for computer illustration. I'm pretty happy with how the ninja turtles one turned out.

This is an environmental design for a group project we did.
Long story short, Nick Dehart and I won't be taking "Pork Precinct" any
further due to budget cuts.

This is the final assignment for the class. What we were told to do
was choose a company to work for, and create a piece that would suit the
sort of stuff they do.
I had a lot of fun with the "Graveyard Shift" pulp cover assignment, so I chose the probably-defunct
Mirage Studios, AKA the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
and made a comic cover for them.

Illustration First Semester

Here's all the stuff from illustration I haven't posted throughout the semester.

Ok, so the first one is an advertisement for Gillette Razors, without showing the product.
The second is a "fashion" assignment, and I wanted to make burgers sexy.
The next two are poetry illustrations, written by a friend of Thiel.
Lastly, the spot illustration is for an article about how horse meat is now being used in food, or
at least it was something like that. I didn't read the article too closely.

Jack Black Portrait

Here's some portrait stuff I've done, from assorted flavors of classes (computer illustration and portraiture, specifically).

Jack Black, first try at Correl Painter. I can dig the program, fun stuff.

Graveyard Shift (Society of Illustrators)

Here is the final version of the stuff I gave y'all a sneak preview of last time. After lots of revision, and cutting words and phrases out and rearranging junk, I arrived at this following finished product. There was an earlier version that had a more writing, including many shoutouts and nods to the people who helped me out with titles and names and whatnot, but it was stripped to its necessities. Maybe I'll post that version as well. Later, nerds.

GRAVEYARD SHIFT
The project was to create an original pulp magazine cover.

Trifecta

Here's some of the more recent stuff from my computer illustration class. The project was a 3 part concept piece or something like that. Essentially, I took a guy and illustrated him looking in 3 different mirrors at 3 different times during any given day. Tried to do some different stuff with the lighting and whatnot in each piece. Chiggety chill.

Figure Work

Here's some stuff that I've done in my figure painting class. All done in oil paints, surfaces varying from canvas board to illustration board to cardboard. Lots of board. Posted in a secret order; see if you can figure it out. Anyway, enjoy, suckaz.

The secret arrangment is that there is no specific order.

Portraiture

Here's some stuff I've been doing in my portraiture class. They're all in oil paint, done on varying surfaces that have been gessoed, so that part's pretty lame. Whatever, playas. Enjoy.

Posted in chronological order from when the class started up until
the most recently completed one. I'll be posting figure work soon.

Animal Farm

Here's the third piece for my illustration class this year. It's not ENTIRELY complete, at least I don't think (or my teacher doesn't), therefore, it's liable  to be updated.

The assignment was to choose a book, and make an original cover for it.

Music Spot Illustration

Here's some stuff I've done for my illustration class so far. First two projects for the year, third coming soon.

"Music"
This is the first assignment, which was "anything that has to do with music."
I did a conductor going bananas on stage.
Acrylic.

Gary Busey

Here's some caricature stuff of Hollywood's very own Gary Busey. I'm not 100% sure but I think he's famous strictly for being a maniac.

Gary Busey caricature.
He's a nut. I tried to approach this differently than I usually do,
using bigger lines rather than a buttload of crosshatching.

Terminator

Here's some stuff I've been working on for a while.

This one took a while. May or may not go back into the
background and work again. It was inspired by
Terminator 2. There's a part in the movie where he picks
up some Mexican's baby, always liked that part,
figured I'd incorporate it somehow.
Enjoy, suckaz.

Doodles

Here's some stuff I've done since school let out.

Originally a doodle I did on notebook paper in one of my classes.
Took it into photoshop and niced it up a little while waiting for my flight to
be cancelled at the airport.

Quick picture of Hellboy.  I kept the goofy proportions his face has
in the comic, just made it all textured and such real nice-like.  I don't really
read the comic or follow the character, Hell, I wasn't too impressed with the
first movie, never saw the second. Just thought it would be
a fun drawing.

12x12

Here's some stuff I did for my painting class. These are 12 12 inch by 12 inch paintings with a common theme: obscene hand gestures from around the world. I don't know how to label each one so good luck figuring out where they're from.

Finishing Moves

Here's some stuff I did for my illustration final. The assignment was an editorial illustration for the article of our choice.  Peace out, Ca$mer, it's been real.

The article I chose was:

"Finishing Moves"
Acrylic

This was the original cropping for the piece.
I like it better without the border, but I felt the ice needed to be cropped a little.

And for anyone interested, here's the color study done for it.
